PROPOSED AFDSNY BYLAW AMENDMENT ON PROXY VOTING:
As noted in our February-March 2023, and April-May 2023 issues of Fire District Affairs and a mailing sent to your fire districts or municipal member entities, a bylaw amendment on proxy voting has been proposed for the Bylaws of the Association of Fire Districts of the State of New York and will be submitted to the membership for approval at the 79th Annual Meeting of the Association during the business session and subsequent vote to be held on Friday, May 19, 2023 at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino located in Verona, New York. We have developed a Frequently Asked Questions Document [“FAQ’s”] on proxy voting and a sample form notice and proxy for your information as you consider your district or municipal member vote on this important issue.
