INTERIM AFDSNY SECRETARY-TREASURER POSITION
The Board of Directors has been notified that the Secretary-Treasurer of our Association will resign, effective December 31, 2024. To fill this vacancy, the Board must appoint an Interim Secretary-Treasurer to serve until the Annual Meeting of the Association in October 2025. This interim appointment will last approximately nine months. As a reminder, at the recent Annual Meeting in October, the membership approved a Bylaw amendment to divide the Secretary-Treasurer role into two positions: an elected Secretary and an appointed Treasurer. These changes will take effect in October 2025, when the membership will elect a new Secretary, and the Board will appoint a new Treasurer.
We are looking for a qualified individual to fill this interim position. According to our Bylaws, eligible candidates must currently serve as a commissioner, secretary, treasurer, or deputy treasurer in a member district. The Board of Directors is specifically seeking someone who meets these criteria and has a strong background in finance and clerical work to effectively carry out the responsibilities of the role.
